I don't think I am. Metroid would have definitely stirred that cult following. It also would have played well with the gaming press and that is a victory no matter how it is looked at. Perception rules and if they included Metroid, it would have had the perception of being there for core gamers.

You are mate you know why? Because one the majority of Metroid fans are one the Wii U it's a game that has no real alternative anywhere else and the reason for that is because it's ultra niche and two the niche nature of the serie's appeal has little to no impact on perception of any platform, it's in the same boat as games like Ico, praised by forum goers but ignored by everyone else from cores to casuals, so yes you're kidding yourself hard on this one.
