Tokyo Mirage Sessions is a good comparison, but again, it's a lot of static environments and empty dungeons. The art style helps pretty up what would be a ugly game. 

Games with this art style hold up over time. Dragon Quest 8 is still a pretty game and will continue to age well. I don't see how something so uncommon can be called generic unless you're just referring to character design.

How long a series has been cell shaded doesn't mean the style isn't a generic anime style. Sorry to inform you.

 

Add Persona 5 to that list.

You didn't actually respond to any of what I've said. The anime style isn't changed at all from previous Xeno games. This type, the character and art aren't ugly. So I guess ugly anime style isn't generic?

I can't believe I'm defending a Switch exclusive so much.
