i am the other side of the coin. I often compain that games today don't have enough cutscenes. I come from an age where it was an absolute treat to see some picture stills, music, and written dialogue after beating a level. It was a reward for all your hard work beating a level. Especailly after a hard fought boss battle. With advances is technology i want a full motion video after every boss battle. Not just an in game cut scene. Full motion cinematic. Gameplay is important, but so is good story telling.
Not to get off on a tangent, but a great example of gameplay impeding story is the last encounter in watch dogs. It should have been an intense dialogue followed by a conclusion all in a cut scene. Instead they added in quick time events to try to liven it up a bit. I made it feel shallow and unnatural. A real shame given the build up at the end.
Haven't finished bayo 2, but enjoying it so far.
