Still waiting for the "gamecube 2"
A simple console that gets the job done, cheap, without gimmicks, and with great first and third party support for gamers.
The Switch has almost all of that. But the problem is that it is alone in its own segment. Yes the console will have multiplatform games, but a publisher won t be able to port ALL their games on it. And if they want to bring more games, they ll have to make exclusive ones.
Best case scenario we end up with a Wii2, the system is a success, lots of exclusives from third parties, lots a of crappy ports heavily downgraded.
Worst case scenario its a WiiU2, and we are screwed. And so is Nintendo.
Let just hope its a success, and that Nintendo will pave the way for a more diversified library of games. We need games like metroid, f zero, rogue leader, perfect dark, eternal darkness, 1080, wave race. More deals like the one with capcom on the GC.
Nintendo needs to get their teeth out, they need to stop coasting and start acting again like this is a competition. And they need to win some battles.
Regardless of the power of that system, if the game of the year is Overwatch for example, then Nintendo have to get it on their system.
Next year might be amdromeda, but well, no way it runs on switch lol
