Wasn't that just a rumor?
The way it seems to me, is that Japanese PS4 ports will be uncommon. If Switch is a mega hit, that may change.
The WiiU got some Gen 8 ports during a time when devs were still porting games to PS3 and X360. That's generally not the case any more. So if they are to develop a game for PS4 and Switch, it not only needs to run properly on PS4 Pro, PS4 Vanilla, and not only Switch (docked) but Switch (undocked) as well. That... sounds like something I don't think most Japanese developers want to go through. I find it a lot more likely that we'll much more commonly see unique games for Switch from these developers, who would normally release games for Nintendo's 3DS.

I don't know. How many JRPGs are developed with the Vita in mind first and then a PS4 port gets done? Something similar can happen with the Switch. The thing is a handheld after all, and handheld gaming is still stronger there than home console gaming, even with the PS4. Maybe the JRPGs that are more western focused (like FF XV) won't bother on the Switch, but that genre is still full of A-AA (even AAA) titles that would fit on the Switch with little to no efford.
