1st bold: more people voted for Hillary. Nearly 3 million more, actually. 3 million more people voting for Hillary than Trump is a "fuck you" to Hillary?

2nd bold: Obama's legacy is gas going from over $4/gal to under $2/gal, getting 21 million more people insured, consistent job growth over the span of his presidency, the stock market more than doubling, gays getting the right to marry, unemployment going from near 8% to 4.6%, getting Bin Laden, cutting taxes for the middle class, and more. All with a Congress that stonewalled him at every turn. I don't understand the "4 more years of Obama" as a negative point on Hillary. I mean, I know Republicans have painted the picture that Obama has ruined the country and their constituency was suckered into actually believing fiction , but reality is based in facts, not in fiction. And the facts show that "4 more years of Obama" would be a good thing. That's why people say if Obama was able to run again, he'd have Reagan '84 level destroyed Trump.

Side note: you're proving Noah and several posters in this thread to be correct, by showing that you'll defend Trump from any and all criticism, no matter what

1. I'm talking about around the country, not New York and California. Unfortunately you don't win an election just by appealing to the states that breed liberals.

2. You give Obama credit for things he has no real influence. 21 million got insured through higher premiums for working people and ridiculous penalties, Obamacare is unpopular for a reason. Obama got in after a market crash, so again he could only benefit from jobs going up but U-6 numbers don't look great for him. Gays getting married is fine with me and I actually like some of the changes he made to healthcare, its the Obamacare thing I don't like. You're really giving him credit for Bin Laden? Yeah, whatever. I think much of the country was ready to bail on Obama, they didn't even want the person Obama spiritual successor.

I'm not really defending Trump, its just evident dems are looking for any excuse to attack Trump. It seems like Noah was drinking more Trump kool-aid than actual supporters. Again, looking at polling even Trump supporters aren't expecting to get everything he promised. But Noah seems surprised by this.

1. 80,000 votes. 80,000 votes in 3 states is what gave Trump the election. 80,000 votes in 3 states is a "fuck you" to Hillary, but 3 million votes in "2 states" (parentheses because if you really believe it's just NY and CA, you're delusional) just means nothing, I guess.

2. Obamacare is unpopular because Republicans, at every turn, make it out to be the worst thing ever. So, public opinion of "Obamacare" takes a dive (I remember reading that Republicans stirred up hate for the policy via tagging Obama's name to it to run parralel to that fiction I mentioned to say he's destroying the country, so something directly associated to Obama would be viewed negatively. Also calling it the "government option" and "public mandate"). But people actually like the "Affordable Care Act". When you explain the benefits to them, they like it.

As someone else before me pointed out, "Obama go in after a market crash" is an irrelevant argument. Literally every Republican president in the modern era has had lower and lower job growth, then a Democrat comes in a fixes it. So, Obama may have come in "after a crash", but historically, he falls right in line: we get less jobs under Republicans, we get more jobs under Democrats.

Yes, I give him credit for Bin Laden. Who was in situation room given the commands to finally get the bastard? It was Obama. What are you gonna say? "Obama didn't do anything! It was the NAVY Seals who got Bin Laden!"? Funny, you try to take credit away from Obama for his involvement in getting Bin Laden, but I bet you shit all over Hillary because of Benghazi, even though "she didn't kill those diplomats! Terrorists did!"

And if much of the country was ready to bail on Obama, why is favorability rating sitting at 55%, but the guy "the people" (as in, 3 million less people) want is sitting at 43%? You want to know why it's so low for Trump? Because it's not due to Democrats "looking for any excuse to attack Trump". It's because that "any excuse" is actually a bunch of legitimate reasons. He's trying to take away overtime work for people who make less than $47,000 (which is just below the income per capita in the US. i.e. a lot of workers who put in over 40 hours a week are gonna get screwed). His Carrier "deal" that "saved 1,000 jobs" actually only saved about 730, many jobs are still going to Mexico, and Carrier is still raising prices by 5% while getting $7 million in tax incentives that Indiana people have to cover; a bunch of crony capitalism. He's appointing people to cabinet positions to be the head of departments that they hate and want to dismantle.

Those are legitimate reasons to attack Trump. Not to mention him flipping on many of his main talking points, in general. Speaking of Carrier, it was the exact opposite of "you move jobs to Mexico, and I'll put a 35% tax on your goods". Nope, they get $7 million in tax incentives. "There will be a total and complete shut down of Muslims entering the country until we find out what's going on over there". Nope, only "certain Muslims" will be banned. "I'm gonna drain the swamp of the Washington elites and the establishment". Nope, I'm gonna appoint a bunch of Goldman Sachs and Exxon billionaires to my cabinet. "Lock her up!". Nope, that's nice to say during the campaign, but now that we won, we don't actually care about that, right

Noah doesn't seem "surprised by this". It's just like Bernie said during his town hall: why did you vote for someone who lied to your face? All those things he said he'd do to get you to vote for him, now he's flipping on all of them and you don't care?

edit: also, you're not even going to give him credit for the $160 billion in tax cuts to the middle class? The cuts that are literally as tied to him as Obamacare is or the "Bush tax cuts" are to George Bush? Now that is just "finding an excuse" to hate Obama.
