However, the 360 never saw the effect of digital sales, so we'll need to take that into account as well. Now estimates say that digital sales on consoles make up anywhere from 20-40% of all video game sales today. I'm going to be a bit conservative, and say that 25% of all Halo 5 sales are digital.

Where did the 40% figure come from? Are there any examples of console games that have retail versions where 40% of sold copies were digital? I recall reading that it's generally between 15%, up to ~25% in the most rare cases. I believe the guy with the Megaman avatar who discusses sales a lot (I forget his name) reiterated this a few months ago as well. I can look up the article I read if you want, but for now a quick google search gave me this: https://www.cnet.com/news/buying-playstation-and-xbox-games-on-discs-isnt-going-away/
They say that in 2016 digital sales are estimated to hit $5.6 Billion, as opposed to $19.5 Billion for physical media. Now that's revenue, so it's not an exact mesurement as prices between games can vary, and it doesn't seem to exclude digital only titles, but that 5.2 Billion figure is 22.3% of the total, so that sounds about what I expected.
Anyway, it does sound like Halo 5 has sold pretty well. Perhaps not in Halo standards, but generally speaking it has very good numbers

aquamarine said digital sales is over 25% for AAA. And as much as 35% for games like gears with early play days. Anyway frank o Connor confirmed 5 million copies sold through by the end of January. So whether digital is at 15% or 35% it had 5 million copies sold in January.
Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)
halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)
x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.
