The gap between Switch and Scorpio looks to be about the same as between Wii U and PS4 though, while the gap from Switch to PS4 Pro looks to be about the same as from Wii U to Xbox One.
How that power will be used, however, is another matter entirely; see the latter half of my post above.

But by the same token those same games will all have to have a Pro/Scorpio mode. It's only natural to compare Switch to systems releasing around the same time, rather than to systems that released over three years earlier.
Nintendo do have an opportunity to narrow the perceived gap, however, if they don't chase resolution to the detriment of other graphical elements, like Sony has with Pro and MS looks set to do with Scorpio.
