Take RDR2 for example. Several rumors suggest it would be on the NS - yet the trailer and the website make no mention of it.

Perhaps they are going for shock and awe. January 12 may just be like BAAAAM here is 50+ games coming to switch. While let them be announced through the year instead of just all at once.

Could be possible. I could see RDR2 being such a huge announcement for the event that they possibly didn't want Rockstar revealing it for Switch at the same time it was revealed for other consoles. 

And thank them for it because otherwise we wouldn't have gotten the greatest thread in VGC history.
