1) Oh. I thought he was saying it was too big to fit in his pocket. I mean, plenty of people still put their 3DS in their pocket (at least around me they do because I still street pass with a lot of people) so I guess I misunderstood.

2) I completely agree with everything you said here. I simply do not think the dock has a fan (there seemed to be no signs of one based on the picture). I think the console itself does but the dock does not for every reason you listed. Other than that small difference, I agree with you.

There's two fans. One is in the system. One is in the dock which provides additional cooling. You're not going to see the fan inside the dock because it's inside the dock.

Laura Kate reported that and she's basically been right on everything regard the Switch (segmented d-pad, swappable sides, trailer reveal date, etc. etc. etc.).

You can see two air intake vents on the bottom back side of the unit right there anyway. That's likely where the dock fan pushes cool air into.

Ah, if those are vent openings on the base then yeah, that might be for a supplemental fan.  The other option is just pushing air around the system near hotspots.  That does help, I had to use a cooling pad with my first laptop when the fan started to go out and was running at I suppose 40% efficiency?  The pad helped keep it in safe operating temperatures so even a supplemental fan like that could help just a bit.
