This either highlights how most people are moving to downloads and digital media seems to be ousting boxed crap. TBH it's sort of encouraged since it takes an eternity to run X even with a copy and day one prices are the same most of the time. The whole preload thing also entails you are able to download it while you sleep and play it in the morning, whereas doing this with copies seems difficult...
In other words, convenience.
