PS1, PS2, Wii, GameBoy, DS, 3DS. Outsold the competition despite the competition's greater power.

Don't forget NES. The Sega Master System ran circles around it power-wise but sold like 1/4 as much.

In terms of power The N64, in many ways, never delivered on it's LOFTY promises. It ended up being my favorite console that gen, because it was quite good, and I got burnt out on the PS1 for a few different reasons. Still, there were times when I was underwhelmed, or outright disappointed in it's lack of technical prowess. Just looking at a few genres: Fighting games. Jesus tapdancing Christ. The PS1 reigned hard, savage blows on the N64. Look at Tekken 3 and then look at....War Gods? MK4? And you would be forgiven for scratching your head at the idea the N64 was more powerful than the PS1. Driving games: Holy Flurking Schnit. Again. A brutal thrashing. The N64 pooped out some teeth on this one. Gran Turismo 1 or 2. The Formula 1 games. Next to.....ummm F1 World Grand Prix? Ow. OW! Yes F-Zero looked awesome, and was actually my fav of the gen, but I'm talking realistic graphics. RPG's looked better on PS1 too. I had a bit more, but in a rush to go. These teeth don't brush themselves.

I dunno, Top Gear Overdrive and Beetle Adventure Racing looked pretty damn good on N64 back in the day.

When you look at the system's overall best looking games though, stuff like Majora's Mask, Conker's Bad Fur Day, or Donkey Kong 64, it was no slouch.
