Also, Bethesda is probably testing the waters as well. THey have not supported Nintendo since the NES days, and because of that, have no precedent of their main titles selling on such a new and different ecosystem. If I had to guess, they are 100% making Skyrim SE, because Nintendo asked them to in some way (it appeared on the trailer for a reason) and to catter to the fantasy RPG audience it's sure there, just look at BotW hype. Next, they are also working on Fallout 3/New Vegas SE. They haven't anounced them for any platform, but considering the Skyrim sales, they would love to re-release this ones again. And if they are making the efford of porting, why not try it on the Switch, it wouldn't be that difficult or expensive considering the size and age of the games, even if remastered. Less probable are newer games like Doom, Wolfenstein, Dishonored and the like, because they recquire a bigger risk, and they need to know whether it's a good idea or not. Maybe it's not ideal, but hey, they are doing something. Better than expected, and way better than T2, they at least say something that's not pure PR. The one I have no idea is the Elder Scrolls Online. Maybe they'll port it to try and carve themselves a better niche in Japan? |
Its very hard to predict what other Bethesda game/s could be there beside Skyrim RE, but in any case they sound very exaited about Swich and they dont sound at all like they have only Skyrim for Switch, and they never were exatied about any Nintendo console before, actually they were very critical about past Nintendo consoles, and this Todd Howard guy is not same guy thats is known for hyping things just because PR talk. Of Course how long and how strong Bethesda support will be depends how much Switch will be popular and how much their games sale on Switch, but in any case it doesnt seems that Skyrim is their only Switch game for start.
I would love to see Fallout 3 and later Oblivion Remaster. :)
