Because it has mobile Tegra hardware its portable!? :D When you have Switch in dock and you have separate controller in your hand, Switch has home console form factor not portable. Whole point of Switch is to "switch" between home console mode and handheld mode, it's a hybrid.
Again, Switch is hybrid of home console and handheld, its built from ground and with main purpose that can act like real home console and like real handheld out of box, OS is built with that purpose, hardware is built with that purpose, controls are are build with those purpose, games are built with those purpose, hybrid, (so it not just handheld that has just option to have just picture on TV like PSP) that's why home console users and handheld users will buy it, you cant say that for PSP and Vita, they were never considered for hybrids or home consoles while its very obvous that Switch is real hybrid and that you can consider for home console also.

There is no such thing as a hybrid of portable and console. If a device is portable, then it is not a home console.
Switch's hardware is mobile. Its form factor is mobile. The dock and the detachable controllers are just additional features, no different from PSP's ability to be connected to a TV, or Vita's ability to stream PS4 games wirelessly.

But there is, Switch is hybrid, hardware, OS, controllers, games, features...all are made in order that Switch can be used like real home console and real handheld. Of Course that hybrid of home console and handheld needs to be portable also in order to be used like handheld also, you can't have hybrid of home console and hybrid if you can't use device like handheld offcourse. Switch in hands is portable device, Switch in dock with separate controller in your hands makes Switch home device, so there you have form factor of handheld and home console.
If CPU or GPU are mobile doesnt mattar at all (XB1/PS4 CPU is notebook CPU, so that makes it mobile CPU also), form factor is bouth portable and home. Dock and detachable controllers are not additional features, they are core and essential features of Switch for using like real home console of course, same like using Switch like handheld on go.
Again you constantly ignoring clear facts, Switch can be ue used like real home console with all features of home console, basically Switch has all features like of home console, and of handheld, thats why its a hybrid.
At end, you can keep deny all arguments and facts and you consider Switch just for version of PSP, but reality is totally different.
