Depends on the game tbh, eShop is literally just a straight port that they can't really add anything to, in a case like Splatoon the rumour is that they want to push for a competitive scene like what Smash has so new features and DLC is planned which would be tricky on an eShop version they'd have to rework the game anyway so it's likely they decided to just do remasters. Smash 4 has a successful competitive scene so the remaster is likely more for switch players who haven't picked the game up yet and MK is probably the same. |
There is no competitive scene for Splatoon or Mario Kart. Smash Melee is still the one people prefer as well.
