That 48 million have only one platform to migrate to for portable gaming and they get access to games from the platform they didn't want to invest in.

Ok, then what about the Switch owners who didnt own a 3DS. Are they getting Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D World? No, because remastering those for the Switch would actually take some work. Im sure the people who missed out on MK8, Smash and Splatoon will be ok with playing the sequels.
