America invading Canada would immediately open the door to any other willing super power, to invade their neighboring countries without scrutiny. This would piss the rest of the world off to no end.
If America ever did really want to push further north, they had better be 100% sure they could do it, because if they failed, I'm sure the Queen would be more than happy to annex a portion of America, and the world would let her do it after a stunt like that.
