Where do 70m+ Xboxes come from all of a sudden? You disregard the sales of high-selling Nintendo home consoles of the past and at the same time bump up Microsoft's number to an unreal one. Microsoft's track record suggests that anything above 50m is going to be a longshot. Xbox (24m), Xbox 360 (~90m), Xbox One (projected to be below 40m). Xbox Scorpio is going to be a next generation system, features a new CPU and GPU on its motherboard. |
XBox One is trending towards 40 million LTD, if you could involve Nintendo I think that would bump to 60-70 million. 10 million more from Japan right off the hop where MS has basically 0. An additional 10-20 million from EU/Americas.
The combined effect of both Nintendo and MS libraries and full third party support would in general create an overall more appealling singular platform as a whole anyway which would siphon off some Playstation users too. Super Mario + Halo + Zelda + Minecraft w/exclusive Nintendo content + Gears of War + Smash Brothers + Mario Kart + Forza + Donkey Kong Country + Metroid and all third party multiplats is a platform even Sony would have some problems matching up with, they'd have Uncharted + Horizon + God of War + uh ... Gran Turismo + the same multiplatform games.
