I would like to see a Nintendo x Microsoft team up. Why not. They are basically across the street from each other anyway.

Having three divided companies in this business has never worked. One always ends up getting the very short end of the stick in consoles.

Bromance it up. A Nintendo + MS console would be gaurunteed to have a solid position in the market always, no need for relying on gimmicks and flaky audiences that bail out on you for cheap smartphone games.

I've always maintained Nintendo and MS make better bedfellows than Nintendo and Sony, against prevailing wisdom.

If Microsoft built the hardware and online functionality, and managed the Windows side of things, and Nintendo had complete control over software, OS, and mission statement, that could be an interesting partnership.

If MS was willing to give Nintendo a fair amount of control, I think yes, it would work.

And I think they would be willing to. They've been in the business now for like 15 years and they're still kinda spinning their wheels in the same place eating Sony's dust.

Nintendo could even take over distribution/branding of the XBox in Europe/Asia while continuing to make Switch systems. One is a dedicated home platform the other is a portable tablet really with a HDMI dock, they're different enough to coexist the same way Nintendo consoles + handhelds have for decades.
