It's not the consumers fault in my opinion. Consumers should not be forced to study what Nintendo did in the past before buying their new console they're selling. Nintendo did an awful job with Wii U. It's Nintendo's fault. Even considering Nintendo's past, Wii U is one of their worst consoles ever, maybe the worst. It lacks some of Nintendo's own franchises and it was dead one year before the release of the NS. Wii U is horrible, no one could predict that some years ago.

This is absolutely stupid.  There are zero guarantees when you buy a new system of what the future holds.  Anyone who buys a system today because they think game X will come out for it in a year, needs therapy.  I personally have had a lot of fun with the games that I've bought for the Wii U and I've bought a lot of them.

Like I said, it is the sort of mistake you make with the first time you buy a console around launch time, that mistake of thinking that all of the preview footage shown before launch should be expected during the launch window of the machine. I mean the 3ds bombed so much with its launch they offered the ambassador program to repay the early adopters.

But ya long story short, don't buy a console at launch if you want all the aaa games demoed and don't buy a console at all of you'll be annoyed if a game from the platform is ever ported or remastered to another machine because that can always happen because software Developers want their games played by as many people as possible and on all the platforms that can potentially play it.
