For the record, I think there will be a high power mode and lower power mode (when not docked), similar to a laptop. Nintendo could also save space from the kind of harddrive they use. Nintendo's main focus these past 5 years has been to cram as much power into a small tablet as possible, at an affordable price. Sony's main concern will not have been the size of the console, unlike Nintendo. At least that's what I think.

It may have lower and higher power mode... even so even the top Tegra wouldn't be stronger than PS4.

Nintendo may have been cramming more in less space, but sony also have and I don't think Nintendo have gotten so further (with batteries, heating, etc) to a degree that would allow Switch form factor to hold the same power of PS4. But sure I could be wrong... but on the case of PS4 Slim it's basically the SOC wrapped in a small case so they are almost as small as possible on this node.

Nintendo definitely *can* cram PS4 level tech into the Switch.  The problem is that they would have to sell the system for an enormous price, or sell it at a big loss.  Nintendo never does either of those things.  So, I don't think there is much chance that the Switch will be comparable to XB1 or PS4 in terms of "power".
