Nintendo's trend for the past 6 years has been one of users migrating away; whether that will change with Switch remains to be seen, and hopefully it does, but there is a downward trend that Switch will have to reverse before it can start gaining ground. For Nintendo's sake, I hope 3DS is killed off soon. If they stubbornly keep it on life support, one of Switch's biggest potential advantages, a unified library, will go down the drain.
