I think people are reading too much into this. Nintendo only wants to reveal their console this year and because that they only showed placeholder games like MK8 and such. Even the actor who worked on set said the TVs and such were blank. The footage was added after the fact. The intention was only to show off the console, not the games. Similar to the Wii U Zelda demo

Maybe the bolded part is exactly why people are reading "too much" into this ^^.

Then they should have learned! The same thing happened with the Gamecube too
