The chip in the NS is so powerful for a mobile it needs a FAN, lol, anyone expecting more than 3 hours is crazy. You can even see in the video there are cooling vents on the top side of the unit (to the right of the cartridge slot).
This chip destroys what's in the Vita.
I think it's a smart move from that POV in that a "in between" portable isn't going to work great anymore. Tablets/phones can play "good enough" games already.
For Nintendo to take the dedicated portable market to the next level in a world of tablets/smartphones means drasitically changing the definition of a dedicated portable and what it can do. And that is basically making a portable console.
