So can somebody tell me what's the definition of gimmick? What's gimmicky about portability? What's gimmicky about having detachable controls which allow you to play outside easily, in a trip with your friends or something? Also, it's very Nintendo-like, trying to have a focus in social gaming. Kind of refreshing after all this VR hype lately.

God bless you. Every time someone uses "gimmick" as a bludgeon against Nintendo, I die a little inside.

Anyway, Switch has me excited in a way that iterative consoles like Scorpio and Pro fail to capture. The Switch represents new ways to play and, more importantly, share games. It's not just more power under the hood.

Outside of local multiplayer on the tablet screen, what about it hasn't been done before? Everything else that was shown has been done before. I think it looks very well done, but there's nothing very innovative or market shaking about Switch.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."
