Nintendo could be aiming for 10nm process from the beginning, Samsung has already annonced their process is in full production,
it should be ready for end product launches by Spring 2017 when NX is supposed to go on sale.
That's an aggressive schedule, but given they aren't making the Christmas 2016 season, that would be the advisable route IMHO.
I guess that isn't really Nintendo's style, but would be the best means to optimally position re: other consoles and Android phablets.
MS' Scorpio would be positioned to leverage a 10nm process, except that AMD is looking to skip 10nm to jump on 7nm quicker.
If Nintendo is going with an ARM/NVIDIA platform though, I don't see why 10nm isn't reasonable, given it will be on phone/tablet APUs.
