I read your post, you only mentioned the financial sector which isn`t really at all related to game console, you mentioned nothing about Apple or anybody like that. And hey, the iphone is something I look at and think `meh, don`t want that`, so this makes me think I`ll think the same about the NX.

Regardless, bigger/better certainly isn`t the dead end you portray it to be. In actual fact the Wii and it`s motion controls seemed to be the dead end in the gaming industry, while bigger/better consoles are still flourishing. The same can be said of other industries, think about 3D TVs. A big deal was made out of them and their innovation originally, but now all the focus seems to be back to the bigger/better TVs (UHD and the like).

Read the last part of the sentence, just because you went meh with the iPhone it doesn't negate the point because as is evident you were in the minority when it came to the launch of the new touch screen based phones.

The bigger consoles are still built on innovations, the analogue stick, rumble, triggers, online, internal storage, shoulder buttons etc... all of these collectively make up the platform you prefer so like it or not your bigger better scenario is still coming from innovations.
