Why do we insist that NX has to be another PS or XB, or else it'll fail?

That's what happens when your hobby goes mainstream. Non gamers who only look at specs and graphics.  Same reason everyone hates on Nintendo games and calls them kiddy because they aren't manly macho competitive shooters or sports games.
