My guess is the NX concept may have started as a multiple platform device, but Nintendo eventually came to the conclusion that a singular hybrid was better for several reasons. 

You can't have a "shared ecosystem" and then just have some balls to the wall 80 watt console and expect games to run on a 5-8 watt portable. 

That's essentially the problem when trying to guess what something is, but saying there is no info claiming that NX COULD be seperate devices is not entirely true.

At this point the proof is piling up pretty high though. 

It's not just Eurogamer that reported the hybrid thing, it's been cross-verified by IGN. In a podcast last week Peer Schneider (someone who's been covering Nintendo for 20 years, so he's no amateur reporter) stated that IGN had the hybrid concept verified by their own *multiple* sources. 

Wall Street Journal, Lets Play Video Games, and Semi Accurate also confirming the hybrid reports. 

And about 2 weeks ago, you Mr. Takahashi (head of Nintendo EPD and one of the cheif big wigs in designing the NX) referring to the device in a singular tense (I want to make A DEVICE that both moms and experienced players will enjoy ... which among other things doesn't sound like some super duper hardcore console).

Now today we have this quote, which while I'll agree isn't full confirmation, is pretty damn close to describing a hybrid platform. A shared library isn't a new concept either, the PS Vita and Vita TV already do that.  

Meanwhile Dave is hanging onto AMD design wins that could be anything. 

In any case, just reveal the fucking thing already Nintendo so people can shut the fuck up.
