One thing you really need to look out for in keyboards is how many buttons that you can press at the same time. I've found when playing games like Sine Mora (SHMUPs) I can't actually move diagonally and fire at the same time under the default control scheme because my laptop keyboard doesn't allow that many button presses at the same time. Not really sure how to check that sort of thing when buying online, but its a pain in the ass.
