Why wouldn't it compete? The PS1 had to compete with the more powerful N64, the PS2 had to compete with the Gamecube and Xbox, the Wii competed with the 360 and PS3 and the 3DS competed with the Vita. The Slim is a game console just like the Neo/Pro. Like another stated it has to compete because it has no choice. It has its benefits on Price and a UHD player so there are people whowould consider an S over a Pro for those reasons.
As for Scorpio. Too early to tell. I have no idea to be honest. Sounds like a next gen system from what im hearing.
