I actually think that by making so much money, damn near or over Wii/DS levels money from their mobile division, that THAT will actually give Nintendo a lot more room, comfortablity, and ease to put more resources and take even more risks and innovate with their games and hardware business. Everything they were doing with their games before the 8th Generation was a risk, (Toonifying Zelda with Wind Waker and the fan backlash that came with it, going with an FPS approach with Metroid Prime, and the fan backlash that came with it, the Wii's motion controls, etc.)
They've been playing it safe the entire 8th generation mostly because once they saw that the Wii U was a bust and that the 3DS wasn't going to live up or finish close to the standard that they expect from their handhelds, that's when they started cutting back on their resources, spending, and taking less risks. That's why we haven't gotten a huge console game since Xenoblade Chronicles X, which will actually be their last one for the dedicated 8th generation because of Breath of the Wild being on the NX as well. Also why a lot of games they have left for this generation are going on the 3DS and they're mostly localizations (DQ, SMT) new installments of franchises that use the same engine from previous games (FE: Fates, Planet Robobot, Paper Jam), ports of Wii U games as a means of earning more bang for their buck (Hyrule Warriors, Mario Maker, Woolly World), or spinoffs of franchises that don't require nearly as many resources as mainline editions (Federation Force, 2D Pikmin for 3DS).
I think that is one big reason why they changed their minds about mobile in the first place. Initially, they were dead set against it, but they eventually caved because upon seeing the bleak futures of the 3DS and Wii U, ESPECIALLY the Wii U, they had no choice. They knew that decision was going to freak out their fans and dedicated gaming fans in general, which is why they prematuraely announced NX in the first place, just to reiterate that they're still in the dedicated hardware business, and having spoken since. But now that they've seen what mobile can do for them thanks to Miitomo, Pokemon GO, and now Super Mario Run, (just look at their stocks if you want proof), they realize that this can be a HUGE source of revenue that they can lean on and can actually be beneficial to them in terms of providing money for their dedicated game and hardware and can actually serve as advertisment and marketing that will SELL their dedicated games and hardware. (The 3DS beating both the Xbox One AND PS4 in July's NPD, sales for the system's Pokemon games shooting through the roof all due to the Pokemon GO surge.)
Just because they're taking mobile more seriously and putting more investment into it, doesn't mean that they're dropping out of dedicated hardware or are going to be any less committed. If anything, mobile will replace their handheld division as their main source of revenue and they'll convert their handheld and console divisions into one (NX rumors) and instead of developing for 2-3 systems at once, it'll be just one. They're beginning to realize that mobile can be very helpful to their main hardware and software businesses and the potential amount of money they have to make by managing all 3 divisions right is MASSIVE.
