When they changed the number of posts needed for a certain level, i thought that the number is too high, but when i thought it again, it's not. The reason for the user levels isn't to get you to become "VGC god" on day one, or day 2, but as time passes by and being active on the forum. Then again, you can see the user level only from ones profile, so it's pretty irrelevant.
The reason why it got changed was, that quite a few active posters already topped the maximum level - on a site that was less than 1,5 years old.
