Well if you put years on a line below, I feel we might have, but again how do you quantify graphics, because lets be honest, diminishing returns is not actually subjective concept, it is something that is actually measured, one can act like it is, but is not. 8-bit to 16-bit is quanitfiable.
Same with 16-bit to 32-bit, etc. However Generation 5-6-7-8 the defination of how to quantifyit is not as simple.
I do agree that it is hardware to blame, and it is sadly dragging down PC as well, PC use to be light years ahead, almost a whole generation ahead.
