If the NX is more powerful than the NX, pysical backwards compatibility with the 3DS can still be a thing, specially if they use cartridges. Also, there's no doubt for me now that there will be a Mario Maker NX, if Ninendo was able to port it to the 3DS almost 100%, there's no way it won't be released on the NX.
