Modern cellphones maybe put out a quarter of the power that PS4 and Xbone can do, and they can cost upwards of $700. We all know that Nintendo usually prefers to take the more cost effective route. I'm honestly expecting it to be about equal to Wii-U, which, if it is a dedicated portable, is still pretty damn impressive. I just wish Nintendo would stop making us suffer through insider info and rumors, and just reveal the damn thing. I really want to see it. |
Smartphones have monstrous mark ups and Nintendo won't need a super high resolution display, a $700 phone in many cases costs like $200 to manufacture.
The bigger question is if they can get a chip like Tegra X2 at full clock/full power without
A) Melting the inside of the system from heat.
B) Having it not kill the battery in under 3 1/2 hours.
The Tegra X2 customized specifically for gaming IMO should be able to rip a Wii U to shreds in performance, I don't have much doubt there, I just hope Nintendo doesn't cheap out or gimp the chip.
