People need to stop talking about SoCs at random. The Parker-X2 (Pascal) is an enormous SoC for cars, no one is going to use that in a handheld.

The NX is already rumored (heavily) to not be on Maxwell to begin with, its going to be Pascal. The information provided here is obviously of a similar source as the Eurogamer source and not representative of the finalized kits or model. Loud fans would be the first give away.

They are not going to use an X1. The dev kits are running a maxed out X1 for performance reasons to match where a Pascal-based chip would ballpark. Nvidia's development of 20nm Pascal is only recent, and so the kits that are leaking would not be representative of the newer chipsets. No one is running an X1 in handheld maxed in a retail unit unless they want to start fires, especially 14mm thick ones.

From what I've read the Drive PX2 is a board made of twoTegra X2 SoCs and two discrete GPUs. I haven't seen any indication of the X2 being essentially larger than the X1. Also the the fact it has the same count of gpu cores, less cpu cores (although likely larger) and the smaller 16nm node doesn't seem to indicate a larger chip either. But if you have more precise information or better knowledge of those architectures, please explain.

I think you're right. The Tegra X2 on Drive PX2 probably is not any bigger/power hungrier than a Tegra X1, it's likely better in those situations.

A Drive PX2 is obviously for cars, that's not what people are saying will be in the NX. But a single Tegra X2 SoC, customized for Nintendo, probably is what will be in the NX IMO.
