VR isn't exactly ideal for all kinds of games, and especially the games Nintendo usually releases are something that VR might not work all that well with. In general, you're best off in first-person games where the player doesn't have to move around (as a character, so spaceships for example are OK). Third-person platformers where characters are running and jumping around are pretty much the opposite in terms of games where you have a character of some sort. And that's just ignoring technical aspects.

In such an event I don't think it would mean Ninetendo forcing its games to be VR, they would make cheap, fun VR experience like Wii Play/Wii Sports etc.

In that case, it wouldn't make any sense for Nintendo to build a whole console around VR. If it's not a central feature, it should probably not be in. One does not simply add proper VR support cheaply.
