Well WW HD has noticeable sharper and more clear image, we don't really know how exactly difference would be Captain Toad and Tropical Freeze in 1080p vs current 720p, but definitely image would be noticeable sharper and much more clear.

There are instances on Xbox One and PS4 where the same game runs at 720p on one and 1080p on the other, and the difference looks negligible to me.
