Actually I said it didn't have the core games that *mattered* to that audience. Big difference.
Every platform under the sun has software aimed at "core" players there nothing special about that. iOS and Android do too. So it's kind of a pointless statement, it's like saying "well Wii had games on it" ... yes .... so did 3DO and Atari Jaguar and Playstation 2 and Turbo Grafx 16 and any random system you pick.
