I mentioned above the Wii had less than 6 months from its unveiling to launch, the same is true with the DS.
Unveiling being the key word. So I am not talking about Nintendo's mentions of "Revolution" in 2005, I am specifically talking about the unveiling. If we are talking about mentions, Nintendo first brought the NX to light over a year ago, so it's about 21 months from then to launch.
When it comes to Nintendo's biggest failed system in the time of internet media, GameCube and Wii U, they were both unveiled a year and a half before launch, and both flopped. Wii and DS were both unveiled less than 6 months prior to launch, and tey're Nintendo's two most successful systems.
