The PS4 was revealed at a special PlayStation event in February 2013. The Xbox One was revealed at a special event in May 2013, a couple of weeks before E3.

Yes, special dedicated events. But I meant events as in game shows.

I believe E3 is the only game show where a big console has been revealed. Perhaps you can find a SEGA or something that was announced at Tokyo Game Show, but that was in ancient times.
