Not sure if anyone else has addressed this yet, but on Twitch right now, there are 3.7k viewers with the most populous stream having 1.1k viewers. For context, Minecraft has 10.3k viewers, Destiny has 15.9k viewers, Overwatch has 28.6k viewers and League of Legends has 140.3k viewers.
Those aren't very good numbers.
I personally think that it just isn't very much fun to watch and a big part of that is the lack of Multiplayer interactions. Pretty much all of what makes Minecraft fun to watch is seeing people interacting, so the first thing that I would love to see implemented in No Man's Sky is real multiplayer with meaningful player interactions.
