Because our prices include taxes and US prices don't.

Sales tax in Europe is about 20%. So to make the comparison fair, a 110€ with tax is 91.67€ without taxes.

Pretty much, people don't understand that we (by we I mean United States and Canada) tax after (something that is a 1.00 price tag, isn't 1.00 cost to consumer) and majority of the world does it before (what you see as price is the price).
