The thing is, this package, while it allows you to play the level is not the same as the experience over the years. A lot of events will not spawn anymore, and you won't have the same experiences as you did between the gap. The package just ensures you are caught up story wise, have access to the old raids (which are less fun, when you are in the new DLC because it is no longer as much of a challenge).

So some events from the vanilla game are now gone? And is it true that end-game content is cut off from the original game now that Taken King is in the mix?

Story is set in stone, but the original game story is pretty dry. The Taken King is interesting, the two DLC content in between story are sort of interesting and meh.

However certain events happen between DLC1, DLC2, Taken King in your overfield that were some what made a huge bulk of what you are doing at times. So they typically either get put in one area only, or get removed completely.

Trust me when I say that you need to play the content when it is released, otherwise it is just dull.

Some hardcore destiny fans might take offense to what I said, or might get technical on me, but this is how the game really much is.

I invested decent time in Destiny (enough to get that stupid year 1 emblem for doing a lot of stuff), and felt after beating the Taken King the game is fun, but not good.

It has great potiential and I hope when they do decide to release Destiny 2, they make it better.
