About 712 million people live in Europe.

The Benelux accounts for about 27 million people.

Other European countries listed by VGChartz seperately:

United Kingdom: 61 million

France: 64 million

Germany: 82 million

Spain: 45 million

Italy: 59 million

Scandinavia: 19 million (if including Iceland and Finland about 25 million)

So "other Europe" on VGChartz probably represents about 376 million people of which the Benelux accounts for about 7% of the 'other Europe' population.

Some strong PS3 countries in 'other Europe' includes Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Austria and Switzerland.

I would wish the "other Europe" section would get a better description so to better understand what's covered and included within what figures.

VGC has 575,000 for PS3 in "Other Europe". Let's say half of those are sales in Benelux since that fits with the number in the article.

Benelux has a pop of 27 million.

Since ioi implied it above we can remove Portugal from your PS3-strong market list (incl in Spain sales).

Ireland + Austria + Switz has pop 20 mill so it's unlikey that more than 200,000 PS3s sold there. That leaves almost 100,000 PS3s for the rest - Greece at pop 11 mill + a bunch of Eastern European countries at 330 mill.

Not so long ago in a thread about Eastern European console sales, we could see that Next-gen console lifetime sales are very small in Poland (pop 38 mill) and Russia (pop 141 mill) - roughly 25K each.

So in conclusion, it all adds up well.
