Of all that I've seen from those great shows like GoT or Breaking Bad it seemed fairly standard fare. It's not about the lowest qualities but what hight a medium can reach. I think I've seen the top of tv shows but none of that comes even close to the best of anime. Show me one tv show that's as epic as Kill La Kill, as funny as Azumanga Daioh or as twisted as Higurashi. I'm not blaming tv though, that medium simply does not have the creative ability to compete with anime's unlimited potential. |
I'm half way through Kill La Kill. The first few episodes I was like, "What the hell is this garbage?" But now it's been a very pleasant surprise. When you finally understand the premises and recognize how the art style work with the stroytelling, you'll see that the whole thing has been ingenious.
