I feel as a Canadian, we complain about what is wrong when really things are better, than we do when things are worse (I some what consider it a peace time dilemma) . I think the Sweden falls under that category as well.
Also I think culturally both are countries do not attach ourselves into the country's culture as strongly, which means we are not as nationalist as other countries.
