Yes they abandoned the homeconsole market, a.k.a. Nintendo knows Sont will beat the living shit out of Nintendo sales wise if  they make another traditional homeconsole.

So we can pretty much blame Sony for Nintendo giving up on home consoles. Pretty Ironic actually since they didn't want to work with Sony. On the bright side Nintendo remains doing their own thing and have isolated themselves even further, given the rumours are true.
