It does seem critics are out to get DC movies.

the DC movies have been mediocre though. Man of Steel was too serious and flowed poorly, B v S an absolute mess, and the word is that Suicide Squad starts well and then becomes blah halfway through. I don't think the critics in this case are full of it

I don't mind serious. I liked Man of Steel. The theatrical cut of BvS was terrible though. The Ultimate Cut as decent but nothing to right home about. I liked first two acts alright but the third act was still bad. I've never been excited for Suicide Squad. I like Assault on Arkham and I even liked them on Arrow but despite having separate universes they decided to take Deadshot, Amanda Waller, and the Suicide Squad away from Arrow for this movie. I'll be salty if they ruined Arrow for crappy movie.

I don't know what's going on with DC lately. I used to could count on excellent animated films but quality of those have dipped as well. Ironically I think Assault on Arkham was the last really good animated movie they've put out. DC needs to get over it's Bat-Crutch and start doing a better job of leveraging their other characters. I don't have super hero fatigue but I'm getting annoyed of them wedging Batman into everything.
